Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua went on an early morning mission to Mt Kenya to give thanks for the rains.

In a post on Facebook, the DP said, “I took time to thank the almighty for his Grace and mercy for giving us rain after five consecutive failed seasons and the worst drought in 40 years.”
Last month during the National Prayer Service, First Lady Rachel Ruto told farmers across the nation to till their farms before the onset of rains, which she said were are around the corner after holding prayers on drought.
Speaking during the National Prayer Service, at the Nyayo Stadium, Mrs Ruto exuded confidence that God had heard the nation’s cries regarding the ongoing drought and that the situation was about to change in no time.
She even referred to the scattered afternoon clouds saying it was a sign of the answered prayers.
“I know that the God that we have prayed to in the city of Nairobi today is the God that has heard our prayers, here and even in the counties,” Ruto said.
