Women in Kabarnet join the battle against Banditry

Women in Kabarnet Baringo county led by National chairperson for Maendeleo ya wanawake Rahab
Mwiyo, have been called to be involved in the fight against banditry in the North Rift as the culprits are
their Husbands and sons.
As the action of cattle rustling and battling banditry continue to shake the residents of the North Rift. The
recent case being of two health care workers on Tuesday killed in separate bandit attack at Arori in
Elkeyo marakwet county, the bandits escaped with unknown number of livestocks in the region.

This event has led to reshuffle 20 county commissioners in the affected areas.

The impact has been noticed to affect mothers more so pregnant one who give birth in bushes and
breastfeeding mothers who find it difficult to locomote to relocate to new areas.
The Tandao media made a breakthrough by identifying the action of women in Kabarnet Baringo county led by National chairperson for Maendeleo ya wanawake Rahab Mwiyo who called for plight of women to address the issues in the affected region as the one involved are their Husbands and sons
Other women leaders added that women are key to end banditry as they are able to influence their sons
to end the banditry and it’s propaganda
They urged women to unit and induce women power to eliminate the action otherwise they will suffer
the most.
