The Azimio la umoja parliamentary leadership has held protests over the president William Ruto initiative to formally appoint members of the selection panel set in order to recruit the new IEBC commissioners accusing him of allegedly setting in motion to have a friendly commission.

The ones nominated are Bethuel Sugut, Novice Atieno, for parliamentary service commission, Charity Kisotu for public service commission, Evans Misati James for for political parties liason committee. The law society of Kenya represented by Benson Ngugi, doctor Nelson Makanda and Fatuma Saman for inter religious council of Kenya .
