Stolen medicines have been recoverd in various private residental places in kinangop sub county, Nyandarua county. The residential places include, engineer and ndunyu towns respectively.
One suspect, a pharmaceutical technologist, was arrested during the raid led by Nyandarua County Commissioner Amos Mariba and Governor Kiarie Badilisha.
The drugs were discovered after a co-ordinated multi agency team operation led by Nyandarua governor, Kiarie Badilisha- and the county commissioner Amos mariba.
Boxes containing various types of medicine which were believed to be stolen from various health centres in the county were pulled out from the rental rooms in the residential areas.
They were believed to be stolen from various public facilities and it was believed that the main aim was to
resale them in private clinics. The suspect is reported to have been working at engineer hospital as a
pharmacist technology
Amos mariba who is the county commissioner said that various medicines found by the team are not legalized to be handled by the public and they can therefore cause harm….
The governor Hon. Kiarie-has issued a warning on those who will be found capable of such activities as they will face the full force of Kenyan law stressing that, drug theft hasled to delays in delivery of health care services in the county
John mathara-is therefore pleading with the public to help them with any information concerning the
health matters and theft cases of medicines should be reported with an immediate effect since there’s
need to protect the public health facilities…
