Peter Kenneth lands new government roles

Former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth and Journalist Njogu wa Njoroge have been appointed to be board members of parastatals.

Kenneth will serve as a member of the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation for three years following his appointment by Energy CS Davis Chirchir. He will serve alongside Mark Nderitu Muturi, Milton Luchiri and Sammy Choge. Chirchir revoked the appointments of Hassan Sora, Rhoda Njuguna, Wahome Gitonga and Mary Mwiti.

The Energy CS also appointed Jane Gatwiri Gatobu, Michael Maloba, Ashif Kassam and Mercylinne Chepkirui as new board members of Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited for three years.

Njogu wa Njoroge will chair the Kenya Film Classification Board following his appointment by Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts CS Ababu Namwamba. The CS revoked the appointment of the previous board.

The new board members are John Muigai Nyururu, Hariety Namwezi Zitah, Stephanie Kamene Maseki, Kipruto Kiptoo, John Osimbo, Grace Mwendwa Munjuri and Raphael Ekadeli Loperito.

Namwamba also appointed Grace Wanjiku Wangoi, Kelena ole Nchoe, Beatrice Obingo, Abdirahin Farah Jari, Moses Mulomi, Afzal Esmail, John Seii, Douglas Kasimu, Pauline Morine Nagila, Jennifer M. Koikai and James Bassy to be members of the Board of the Kenya Cultural Centre Council for two years.

Interior CS Professor Kithure Kindiki made changes to the National Campaign Against Drugs Abuse Authority (NACADA) board.

Kindiki appointed Ali Swaleh Nyamai, Ann Njeri Mathu, Elijah Lagat, Fredrick Ngugi and Lucia Nzoongo for three years revoking the appointments of John K. Cheruiyot, Alice Wanjira Mutuma and George Ogalo.

Trade CS Moses Kuria has appointed Patricia Okune, Francis Kuria Karu, Grace Nyabonyi Momanyi, Stephen Kipkosgei Yego and Shallow Abdullahi Yahya as members of the National Standards Council, for three years with effect from February 24, 2023.

Kuria revoked the appointments of Martha Muthoni Wariithi, Munyua Waiyaki, Eddy Njoroge, Edda Boyani and Col. (Rtd) Kasili Mutambo revoked.

Information Communication and Digital Economy CS Eliud Owalo has revoked the appointment of Mahmoud Mohamed Noor, Paul Muraguri Mureithi, Jackson Kiprotich Kemboi and Laura Chite as members of the Communication Authority of Kenya board.

Owalo appointed Bhoke Christine Nchama, Esther Njoki Njoroge, Mgeni Mboto Hassan, Joel Nyambane Okengo, Eric Langat, Alex Wafula Wamalwa and Nicholas Kamuya Ng’arua in their place for three-year term.

Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development CS Simon Chelugui has appointed Josephine Achunga Oyombe, Caroline Wambui Njue, Daniel Kiplangat Mutai, Symon A. Almaida and Jacinta Atemba Makokha to be board members of the Youth Enterprise Fund for three years.

Labour and Social Protection CS Florence Bore has appointed Isaac Kaberia and Milkah Kimonda to be trustees of the National Social Security Fund Board of Trustees for three years. She revoked the appointments of Marion Mutugi and Peter Mweleli.

Gender CS Aisha Jumwa has appointed Kenneth Maina Wanjiru, Yvonne Tonkei, Chepchumba Koskei, Racheal Mbula Musyoki and Kahindi James to be members of the Women Enterprise Fund Advisory for three years. Jumwa revoked the appointment of Bashir Golich Sola.
