A third finish by Kylian Mbappe was enough to make France Cruise in to the quarter finals of the world cup, the game which saw Oliver Giroud break the all time top scorer for France knocked Poland out of the world cup.
Giroud opened the score sheet in the 43rd minute after breaking into the defense of Poland, later on Mbappe scored a brace making it 3-0 upto the 90th minute mark. with 5 minutes added Poland won a Penalty kick In which Robert Lewandoski converted it making it 3-1 inthe process.
This game saw Olivier Giroud surpass Thiery Henry as the all time leading goal scorer for France. So far Argentina and France are the only teams to have qualified for the quarter final. Argentina qualified after edging out Australia yesterday.
Meanwhile Brazil’s Gabriel Jesus has been confirmed that he will miss the rest of the world cup after an injury he sustained during their game with Cameroon. Speaking to the Media Brazilian Coach “Toti” confirmed that the player may miss up to club football after the injury. He also issued an update saying that Neymar will be fit for the world cup
