The Governor of Meru county, H.E Kawira Mwangaza has breathed a sigh of relief, this is after the high court temporarily barred the process of her impeachment from office,

Meru High Court suspended an impeachment motion against Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza.
In a ruling made on Wednesday, November 30, Justice Wamae Cherere claimed that, Meru County Assembly did not follow a proper procedure as required by the law in initiating the motion.
In the mi of last week, Mwangaza moved to court last week seeking orders to bar the County Assembly from debating her impeachment motion.
Through her lawyer Elias Mutuma the Governor argued that the publication of the impeachment motion was called and signed by a stranger in the assembly acting as the clerk.
She further told court that the assembly proved to have a predetermined mindset on the impeachment since 68 out of 69 MCAs had approved the motion.
The impeachment motion was tabled by Abogeta West MCA Dennis Kiogora, who also doubles as the Minority Chief Whip on November 21.
