The Nairobi County government has issued a warning to 43 bars and restaurants for noise pollution in city estates.

This has happened in the wake of the Governor’s move to tame city night clubs following public uproar over noise pollution.

Governor Sakaja, towards the end of last week, cancelled licenses for all night clubs operating in residential areas in the capital, saying his administration will henceforth not issue or renew licenses for night clubs in the areas.

In a press statement, City Hall says it has carried out a noise assessment across various establishments in the city and has now released a report warning entertainment some famous bars and eateries that were found culpable.

The county government said the 43 were served with noise improvement notices and their managers or owners arrested.

On Monday, President William Ruro assured Governor Sakaja of his support in getting rid of night clubs operating in residential areas and pledged that the national government will support the operation.
