DP Gachagua held a thankgiving service in Uasin Gishu, promise police improved salaries.

THE SECOND IN COMMAND RIGATHI GACHAGUA TOGHETHER WITH THE TOP KENYA KWANZA LEADERS
LED A THANKS GIVING SERVICE AT KOITALEL UASIN GISHU COUNTY THIS IS THE FIRST TIME SINCE THE
PRESIDENTS INAGURATION AND HE HAS PROMISED TO DELIVER GOODIES TO UASIN GISHU RESIDENTS
AND THE COUNTRY AS A WHOLE.
The deputy president Rigathi Gachagua accompanied by the Kenya kwanza team led the thanksgiving
ceremony in Uasin Gishu county with the aim of thanking the residents for their support in the august
elections as This comes after the president William Ruto is out of the country for official duties .
The Kenya kwanza leaders present were the speaker of the national assembly Moses Wetangula the
majority leader of the national assembly Kimani Ichungwa ,Uasin Gishu senator Jackson Mandago and
the Elgeyo Markwet transport CS nominee Kipchumba Murkomen among others.


The DP has promised to revive the agricultural sector of Uasin Gishu County and other agricultural
counties stating that this will aid to food production in the country.He has added that he will fully
support farmers. This comes after the senator of uashin gishu Jackson Mandago complained about the
national cereals and produce board who have been a problem in handing fertilizer to farmers.
In regard to this the DP has promised to put in place a committee that will deal with distribution of
fertilizers to farmers ,he has stated that the relevant authority in the county will have to sit together and
make plans on how farmers will get adequate support especially on matters concerning fertilizer.


“We will set up a committee to distribute fertilizer the NCPB is there, the governor and the county
commissioners are there, it will become open and transparent that everyone can see. If we move
forward because the economy is bad, let’s try to reduce the prices from 3500 to 2500.” Said the deputy
president.
The deputy president has also promised better pays for police officers in the country as they help in
keeping the country safe. He has also warned them against bribery and being used by politicians to
harass citizens who have not committed any offense.


The north rift leaders led by the senator and governor of Elgeyo Marakwet Kipchumba Murkomen and
Wisley Rotich have also called on the government to take an action and help them to stop killings in the
Kerio valley bordering Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet, West Pokot, Samburu and Turkana counties.


“Let’s not coddle thugs, let’s start keeping away the few thugs that are a threat to people and let our
children live well in kerio valley and around the counties” said Wisley Rotich.
The Kenya kwanza team gifted the minority community in Uasin Gishu county with a nominated MP
position this is seen as strategy to consolidate more political support from the region.
