
With speculation over Gicheru’s course of death, family friend and lawyer john Khaminwa said Gicheru seemed a disturbed man in the recent past. On the other hand, law society of Kenya president Eric called on the inspector general police to move with speed in covering the circumstances surrounding his death.
As the news of his death continues sink in at his mother’s house in annex estate in Eldoret Uasin Gishu county the mood was somber, friends and family joined his mother to mourn the death of his 3rs born son.
Gicheru’s body was taken to lee funeral home awaiting an autopsy. Tuesday midmorning the detectives were back in Karen recording statements from all those who were present during Gicheru’s death. When he collapsed, the family said he was taken to the hospital and it was reported that he was in a stable condition
Gicheru came to the lime light in 2020 when he surrendered to authorities in the Netherlands to pursue an arrest warrant issued against him 2015 by the international criminal court where he was being accused of influencing witnesses in the case against president Ruto and journalist sang’ over the 2007 post election violence.
On 1st February Paul was released to Kenya with specific conditions restricting his liberty as the case against him proceeded at the Hague. Gicheru died before the ICC issued its final verdict on the case against him, the case now faces collapse.
Now Gacheru’s family is calling for thorough investigations to establish the course of his death.
