PRESIDENT RUTO HITS THE WORLD WITH A GREAT SPEECH.

The 77th session came at a unique moment when the entire world is struggling with multiple grave challenges that include regional conflicts, the covid-19 pandemic, the triple planetary crises, food insecurity the rising cost of living and climate change

The president of the republic of Kenya William Ruto finally addressed the United Nations General Assembly as per the foreign affairs policy set to address the UN meeting on Wednesday. In his speech, Ruto said he was thrilled to have joined the UN General Assembly as the newest member after winning the august presidential poll which was more than peaceful.  

The head of state noted that the covid-19 pandemic stripped UN Nations of many illusions and exposed stark justice and solidarity deficits in the face of existential crisis. He said it was important to reflect on the matters affecting the people and build back better from the bottom.

He also mentioned on the climate changes that are causing drought and famine in many countries, including Kenya especially in the northern regions, the arid and the semi-arid    areas in the country have been caused by droughts. President Ruto said the citizens needs drought and famine relief, improving social protection and healthcare systems.

And before president Ruto finished his speech  he  had  articulated all issues around 17 sustainable development goals and Kenya’s commitment and partnership in achieving them. However, he assumed that Kenya is ready to work with other nations to achieve the pan-Africanization of multilateralism and a more just and inclusive global governance system.
