Oil prices in Kenya has remained high as the situation deteriorated in February  following the Russia -Ukraine war which affected the oil export from Russia. The cost of living is at high standards, Kenyans have not witnessed in for more than 5years and are now hoping for the decline of oil prices in the global markets, that they  will begin feeling reprieved in the mere term. Oil marketing companies however say that, the earliest Kenyans afforded relieve will be the period between November and December.
Oil market retailers  say that by September 20th the government owed them 44billion shillings in fuel subsidy arrears, having settled 16billion shillings on September 19th, this translate to 29% of total amount that has been taken up by the subsidy since the formation  of the program.
As Kenyans hold on to  hope for the price to drop, the reality of the impending inflation adjustment of excise tax about a week, is still approved that the ordinary citizen is still feeling the high cut off of the cost of living.
