Nairobi ( MCAs) on Thursday begun their two – day orientation.

The newly elected members of the county of Nairobi ( MCA) on Thursday begun their two – day orientation at the chambers ahead of the opening letter this month. 
The orientation session included, registration of members , collection of bio- data information , briefing on the use of the voting system of the assembly and briefings of the office of the clerk on the administration and legislative matters.

The house is expected to have it’s first sitting anytime next week and lobbying for top positions including the speaker for the county assembly post has intensified. The azimio la umoja team is banking on their popularity to clinch the speakers post.
Antony Kiragu who is a Kenya kwanza candidate for the position is confident of winning the post.
Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja is expected to gazzette the first sitting of the new county assembly not later than September 9, setting a stage for the speakers election.
