Egypt are champions of the Cadets and Juniors Africa Judo championship following their remarkable win over Angola in the finals played at the Kasarani Indoor Arena. Angola settled for the silver behind Egypt while Senegal took the bronze. South Africa received the best team spirit award.
Kenyans losed massively to Cameroon with only common wealth game Bound Grace winning her match against Mepho Meuli in the 70kg in an under category . The other 5 Kenyan players losed their respective matches to Cameroon .
After winning the cadet category on Friday , Egypt conquered the juniours category by defeating Angola 4 games to 2 which led them to win gold .
Senegal also match expectations against a confident South African side winning all their 4 matches to win bronze . .
The juniors and cadets Africans Judo championship attracted more than 20 countries and it was a first major Judo event to be held on Kenyan grounds .
It was also one of the many to come preparation events for Kenyan Judo players . As Kenya Judo federation hopes to build a very strong team that will fight for medals at the 2024 olympic games in Paris France .
A total of 48 Kenyan Judo players took part with more than 6 players winning medals in the 4 day continental championship
